| Fremont is a city in the state of California in the San Francisco area. Almost a quarter of a million residents live in the area. Although the area has been settled since the late 1700s it was not incorporated into the city of Fremont until 1956. The movie industry got its start in the area. Area attractions include Niles Essany Silent Film Museum, Ardenwood Historic Farm, Aqua Adventures, and Fremont Central Park. The climate is warm with winter lows of 42 degrees and summer high temperatures of near 80. Local main highways include Interstate I-880 and I-680 as well as SR 262 and SR84. BART, the Bay Area Rapid Transit System provides public transportation. Famous people with ties to the area include Kristi Yamaguchi, MC Hammer, and Dina Ruiz Eastwood. |
